Making-visible is a prerequisite for collective knowledge – and each mode of production makes their own, be it through visual or other channels. AXP C4 aims to question the differences and similarities between science and the plastic arts in terms of making-visible. In a playful examination of the scientific format of the conference, work and interventions are seen through open debates about science, art and architectural production. In itself a specific format of making-visible, the video at the same time documents what happened on occasion of C4 and shapes the retrospective perception of the event.

The Anxious Prop Case 4, Reviewing Making-Visible, Stattbad Wedding , 30.03.2011, Berlin

Case 4 was collective effort to examine differences and similarities between science and plastic arts in terms of making-visible. By deconstructing scientific format of the conference, interdisciplinary team generated simultaneous discussions and presented new issue of feuilleton. Site-specific intervention in the sloped pool underlined sectional quality of location and created debates around customized bar-tables. This circular arena with void centre served as spatial model in which real-time conversations where recorded by rotating mobile with microphone at the end. Randomly selected thoughts of participants where re-appropriated and printed in the new visual language.

The Anxious Prop Case 2, Have Balls [Eccentric] , Alexanderplatz Pavilion , 29.07.2010, Berlin

The project aimed to discuss destruction-driven urban developments of Alexanderplatz in the light of existing planner’s visions for this highly political place. As an object that has been constructed to be destroyed, Wrecking Pendulum contains complex mathematical patterns in the prototyping and digital fabrication phase and is constituted by its performative character rooted in the idea of prop in theater. Questioning production of space through the idea of producing site-specific knowledge, the project asked for the incorporation of cultural memory and existing social landscape at Alexanderplatz as crucial factors in the formation of the new.

The Turtle Two (TTT) served as collaboration infrastructure for artists to conceptualize, produce and exhibit art-work in compressed time-frame of 12 hours. Idea of Urban Customization and city as a generator of lifestyles has been brought to diverse group of creative practitioners to deal with.

Flip-Coin Game is both installation and game questioning our pre-designed mobility in urban arena (transportation system network) and giving possibility to visitors to customize given space through familiar coin-game.

The Anxious Prop Collective explores performative dimension of object in contemporary cultural field. Using digital fabrication as an interface rather then a conventional tool for model-making, group of creative practitioners generates new knowledge processes blending conceptual model, prototype and entire exhibition space into theatrical experience.
